I now know why I used to wish I could go to rehab.

I now know why I used to wish I could go to rehab. Not for alcohol or drugs... not to quit anything... but because my systems - nervous and emotional, are always craving space. Generous space.

The capitalistic sense of hurry, fast, and on demand has dehydrated our souls. A weekend away or a day at the spa, even 30 days in rehab, is not enough space for the healing we really need to do.

For years, I had stuffed down parts of myself, just like many of my clients. Achievement, accomplishment, success, even personal growth are powerful and effective protectors that keep us from feeling the deepest pains and fears that hide in the buried most parts of our hearts.

My clients and I are all highly successful women with decades of success, seem to be noticing a new layer of “what got you here won’t get you where you are going.”

No longer can we hold down and ignore the deepest parts of us that are asking for space, compassion, attention, and consideration.

It’s more than mindset. It’s more than spiritual healing in an instant. It’s more than any 7,8, or 9 figure life can provide.

This isn’t about fixing what is broken or even being a victim of trauma- ALL of us have trauma living in our systems. This is about a healthy hide nothing, a compassionate welcoming of parts of ourselves that we have rejected for so long. This is about the Spiritual work of being fully human.

Space is imperative. Space can feel vulnerable and we are often compelled to fill it. It is easier to be busy and out of time than to sit in the space of our selves. To drop out of our intellect into our bodies, in to our whole selves. And, this, my friends, is where I am finding freedom, self trust, peace, and healing.

Getting off the drug of filling all the space so we don’t actually feel is wobbly and uncomfortable. It’s ok to go slow, take time and the teeniest steps, and to take space for your self and your system.

Slow and gentle speed things up. Of this I am sure, not just in theory, but in practice.

I’m reminding you here and now, to take space.

Remember who you are. BE that fullest part of you

If either @billy_flan or I are back in the bedroom watching tv in the evening, Rocky Potato won’t have it unless ALL of us are there. He comes in and begs who ever is not back in the bedroom to say- time to get off the computer and come family cuddle, please.
