I wish BEING YOURSELF was as easy as flipping a sw

I wish BEING YOURSELF was as easy as flipping a switch. Heck, if it was as easy as saying or making a simple decision. The truth is…. We don’t KNOW ourselves completely. We are taught from birth to annihilate and exile pets of ourselves. We are taught to judge and shame and bypass and hid and mask parts of ourselves.

This week I’ve had three different clients bring up “dark spots” in themselves. Parts they shove away and try to escape. And they are exhausted- their parts are exhausted, and ignoring only makes them bigger.

You know this. I know this. So what do we actually do?!

Just like we learned shame and judgment - we can learn to meet and BE with all of our parts. Not to coach them, or fix them, or even send them to the light.

Serious. Fuck off with your positivity and light at all costs shit.

Learning to Meet and BE present, connected, and compassionate with our most hidden parts is - frankly - a new relationship.

You can’t have wholeness while dismissing some of the parts. But you’ve been taught to fear them. What if they have wisdom for you. What if you actually knew how to BE with your grief, or sadness, or rage, or shame, or your too much part, or your not enough parts.

Just typing this brings physical peace to my whole mind/body.

Get to know all of your parts. Get to know your internal family. Get actually to know yourself…

Y’all love to read the slow down and rest posts on social… but what happens if you do it?!

It’s itchy, it’s confronting… it is uncomfortable. Parts of you will freak the fuck out.

And this is where the gold is. You can’t build self trust by avoiding parts of yourself. You can’t hear yourself if you fill the room with noise and refuse to listen.

Business owners, I’m talking to you, especially. The grind and hustle culture has sucked you in… and I KNOW your heart is in your business.

And what happening to the cells in your body? How are you avoiding YOU? What are you shoving aside that longs for your loving presence?

It is possible to be slow and successful. Your nervous system may prefer the drama, but what if?

What if slow could give you flow? What if slow and present were the path to self trust?

What if you COULD be with all these itchy parts of you? What if they were soothed by your calm and connected presence?

What if slow was the fastest path to your becoming all that you desire?

Against all other urges, she allowed herself to go

Against all other urges, she allowed herself to go slow.

The drivers inside began to worry that the business would fall apart.

They told her she would be behind and scolded her for not growing.

Something inside whispered, I am growing, here doing nothing but breathing and being me.

Something inside knew she would trust herself to be where she was- to be only right-here-now.

She met with existing clients, and journaled often listening to her parts.

She had deep conversations and listened to books.

She also slept, and slept, and slept.

She sat in the swing and let it hold her- like in a womb.

She let the sun shine on her face, even without sunscreen, and she watched the hummingbirds play and the cardinals feast.

And her nervous system began to heal. Slowly. Slowly. Slowly.

No… even slower than that.

And it was good.

One thing you can DO in an uncertain world… is D

One thing you can DO in an uncertain world… is DO your basic practices. I know you may feel a little pandemic flux and flatline. You are not alone. I know your well of creativity may feel parched. You are not alone.

Lead your self from Sacred Self energy by doing your simple practices.

Here are some of mine:

💛take my vitamins and meds- lots of water.
💛 daily walks- sweat a little
💛 journal it out no matter what
💛 check in with inflamed parts and offer compassion
💛 listen to a good book or podcast instead of scrolling social.
💛 coffee on the back porch with the birds and dogs instead of with the news.
💛 wash my face- put all the lotions and potions on and top off with good mascara and a pink lippy.

What are your daily practices? What seemingly simple practices support you in this uncertain world?

What if….. what if so deep in your bones, you kn

What if….. what if so deep in your bones, you knew and understood yourself so completely- that you actually trusted yourself.

Imagine the calmness…. What is possible if you really trusted yourself?

What would be different IN you?
What would you create in in your life or work?

Get down into your body… connect with your breath. Move your body physically and put down your device! Soothe that inflamed nervous system before you try and make mental shifts.
