My heart is going on a journey. Can you imagine being involved in a handful of distinct life stories…and then all of the sudden, they converge with one central message. From each stories tale, comes the arrow pointing to one DISTINCT message?
I look over my shoulder… to the left, and to the right? I look ahead, I look behind, I look within..and I even venture in to the fear spots…and all of them are saying FEEL and TRUST your HEART. I know how to follow it…now it is time to feel it. To open it to possibility even if it means breathing through the pain.
So, my heart is going on a journey. One of the stories along this path is a class I’m taking called the Ordinary Courage Challenge: Lessons on Love, Shame, and Worthiness with Brene’ Brown & Jen Lemen.
In our first lesson, we were asked to pack our bags…and write a sentence of what we would take along…and what we would leave behind. Here is my list.
I choose to bring space and time to just BE with this material and this community and my own heart.
I choose to bring my breath because it will center me when or if I feel like withdrawing.
I choose to bring willingness to share what I’m feeling, learning, growing, being with friends, family and this community.
I choose to bring self-compassion.
I choose to bring self-romance.
I choose to bring play and joy.
I choose to leave behind the need to be noticed.
I choose to leave behind feeling small
I choose to leave behind work.
Thank you Brene’ and Jen for providing some structure… and thanks to all the other elements of this that point to the same thing. Image to follow!
