Something to look forward to

January 24, 2012

Something to love, something to do, and something to look forward to.  Maybe Elvis said it first, and one of my early mentors told me that while I was in high school.  Something or someone to love was easy for me to remember.  And the DOING of life, well not that easy to escape.  This final one….something to look forward to— seemed to take more planning and effort.

My mentor had told me that in giving me a stash of cash to pay for an after graduation trip.  I just had to book the tickets NOW with the cash…. a gesture of bringing the action to the desire.  Since then, I’ve made a habit of planning and BOOKING my “something-to-look-forward-tos” early.

Sometimes these were vacations, sometimes they were classes, even planning massage a month out… and my 40th birthday…. well I planned and booked that 6 months in advance.  In a week, I will be on a plane to a deserted beach with 12 other friends…. 5 days in the white sand… a long time in the planning and paying for stage and NOW this event I’ve been looking forward to for months, is now almost upon me.   I’m so thankful to myself, for making it happen 6 months ago…No excuse, no pushing the desire aside….I made it happen a long time ago…and now IT IS!

You can do the same thing….and YOU DESERVE IT.  What do you have to look forward to? I’m not talking the natural life event things…. I’m talking…what have you desired, created, and booked in advance…giving you not only the gift of the actual THING/EVENT….but also the anticipation and KNOWING along the way…that it is coming.

It is in this spirit…something to look forward to…. that I’ve created a special event for coaches and other helping professionals (yes– pretty much anyone that supports other people most of the time).  I’ve been looking forward to this retreat for a year.  As helping professionals, we often push and push and can be prone to self-neglect and getting out of balance.  We spend time helping our clients, learning our craft, working on the business and in the business– and like any thriving organism– we’ve got to have renewal.  This professional retreat is designed just for that renewal and I’d like to invite you.

The retreat is in April….yes…it feels like a long way away.  Like a fresh, spring breeze…the place and time of year have been specifically chosen to recharge, rejuvenate, restore, refresh, re-spirit, and renew you professionally and personally from the inside out. The time to choose this for yourself in NOW.  Give yourself the gift, not only of the much needed renewal…but also the gift of SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO.

Click here for more details and information….and if it feels or looks appealing…book now.  Often we wait until the last minute… and then opportunity gets away from us.  There are only 14 spots left…. and in the coming month, those will fill up quickly.  Choose now,  for you, to join us! A gift for you, for your business, for your spirit– from you.

  • A colleague asked me about expanding his impact and audience. My #1 answer is go to live events and retreats and meet new people in person.

Last October some of my coaching membership clients - chose to come to the Soulie Weekend Away. The bonds and connections made in person are unmatched.... and then... When we all head home connections online expand.

In a highly online connected world- we still need in person connection.

It takes effort and money to take time away to go to events. It can be uncomfortable to meet new people. And it makes a difference!

Holding AND attending events and conferences is my #1biz and life tip!

  • I’m here to give you permission to do it differently.
To be YOU.
To be MAGICAL.
To be a MISFIT.
A REBEL.
What's the thing you've been wanting to do differently but have been holding back?
Declare it in the comments. Begin the process.
  • Afternoon cuddles while @billy_flan wraps presents. Leroy is a good boy.
  • Are you bumping into any of these problems my clients have?: 1. You don’t like to be consistent. Sure, you want to be, but it’s exhausting. It’s fun to show up when it’s fun, and it’s definitely not fun when not.

2. You have some fear around growing and getting better and what demands success will have on you.

If so, I want to share something I am formulating with you.

This is something simple you might not have thought about to help with these problems.

It’s a path that helps you map out your offerings and get aligned and I’m sharing the whole thing on the podcast now.

Plus, I am giving you a super secret tip at the end of describing the path.

So take a listen (link in bio!) and if this path is something you think you can use to help you as well I’d love to know!
  • "[Allison] has this gentle way of encouraging, that makes me take action, as opposed to rebelling against an authoritarian bark of a command!" 💛 Thank you for your podcast reviews!

I hear you on the rebellion part- embrace who you are, embrace your magic, and then find your action!

If this type of thing sounds interesting to you too, check out my new episodes of the #BetterLifeBetterWork Show (link in bio) and leave a review if you are enjoying it!
  • @billy_flan s book is leaving on a jet plane to Australia! Do you have your copy of Hollywood, Texas? Grab it now!
Thanks @tiffanyjanescott for sharing your cute face and a copy of the book. Can’t wait to hear why you think.
