Positive Thinking translated to Positive Visual Thinking
Many of you know what a big thinking guru I am. Change your thinking, change your life…not a new thought by any means!
Do you think your thoughts impact your daily life? I genuinely be live that our thinking creates our life and I believe in the law of “what I focus on, grows.”
Consider for a moment what has been your primary focus the past few days. Has it been a thought of worry or lack? Has it been a grumbling of the BS in your life? If so…do you really want MORE of that coming your way? I be live what we put out there comes back to us…so if I’m putting out something yuck out there…I can pretty much guarantee yuck back in my face.
I recently found myself worrying about MONEY. Actually, I wasn’t worried about money, I was focused on the lack of it. In actuality, I had for the first time ever, the cash on hand to may my tax bill after the most successful year I’ve ever had…and yet, somehow, something triggered a series of thoughts about LACK. Reality was abundant and my thoughts were not. I was living in the story of LACK. What story are you living in? Do you want to keep the story going or do you want to write a new story?
Believing that what I focus on grows, then, I was asking for even MORE LACK. So I grabbed a few close friends and we began Operation Abundance to choose a new story. One simple change in our day, shut the old story up and started a new one: Each day we take the time to write 5 glorious truths about our life, 5 physically beautiful things that we come across, and 5 things we have deep appreciation for. The purpose was to realign focus…and it has. We are still practicing this habit (retraining old ways of thinking takes discipline) and you can occasionally find a piece of it on the Crow Hill Conversation blog.
So what does this have to do with Visual thinking?? Well, if most of us are highly visual, then couldn’t it be that the things we SEE impact our thinking and our feeling too. What visual images are we taking in all the time with out even thinking. How about the news? What is surrounding your work area? If your feelings are off, is there a particular image that you reset your mind with?
Below, I’m going to place a series of a few images: First, I I pulled a quick unfiltered scan of images from the news and here are the icons I got. Lots of angry faces, some illness, one set of big boobs, and a few iconic logos.
Now here is the snap shot of the word POSITIVE (notice the differences in color and expressions). How do you want to feel?
and finally one for the word LAUGHTER because LAUGHTER heals and smiles, as you know…instantly are contagious.
Consider the visual aspects that you encounter. I leave you with four images I particularly love…because they make me feel good. I’d like to leave you with EASE, BALANCE, FUN and ABUNDANCE. May you have more of it in your life! What will you choose to spend a few minutes focusing your gaze on so that you can feel good?
